Manual Machinist

Manual Machinist Job Summary

We are currently seeking a highly experienced, reliable, and motivated Manual machinist to join our manufacturing team.  You will be responsible for programming and operating our ProtoTRAK mills among other manual machining functions in a small-lot machining/R&D environment.  The ideal candidate will be proficient in understanding technical drawings and sketches as well as have a strong foundation in manual milling, turning, and grinding.  CNC experience is not required, but a plus.

Manual Machinist responsibilities:

  • Work from complex prints to machine parts of various materials (primarily stainless steel and common plastics) on our ProtoTRAK mills.
  • Set and adjust work/tool offsets as necessary.
  • Have the ability to complete multiple operations on a job, when necessary (milling, turning, grinding, etc.)
  • Independently select and set up tooling and fixtures/jaws.
  • Monitor the run of parts in cycle and inspect after completion to ensure that specifications and tolerances are met.
  • Be proficient in using and understanding all common machine shop measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, height gauge, indicators, ID/OD micrometers, etc.
  • Train and mentor peers, when necessary
  • Other duties as required by Production Manager

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, technical school certification a plus
  • 10+ years of machining experience in small-lot manufacturing environments
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, such as end mills and carbide inserts.
  • Proficiency in ProtoTRAK programming and operation.
  • Be able to properly follow verbal instructions as well as interpret technical drawings/sketches.
  • Work well with others and collaborate on cross-departmental projects.

Electrical Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a creative and driven individual to join our engineering team as an electrical design engineer! This person will develop, design, and improve various filling, closing and container handling equipment in Cozzoli’s extensive catalog. Under minimal supervision, the electrical design engineer will be tasked with the design and troubleshooting of various machine electrical systems and corresponding PLC programs. They will also have opportunities to improve existing machinery and designs by exercising their creativity and innovation as it pertains to the machine, machine program, and the design process.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

REPORTS TO:  Engineering Manager

DIRECTS: Expected to provide direction and support to shop personnel   assigned to project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Review Customer Scope documents to determine controls requirements, electrical component requirements, and wiring requirements.
  2. Create Electrical Schematic Design, including creation of standards for Schematics.
  3. Creation of Bills of Material
  4. Knowledge and experience with PLC capability, programming, and HMI Programming for Allen Bradley Micro, Compact Logix and Siemens S7
  5. Motion Control including Servo control.
  6. Motor control with VFDs
  7. Safety PLCs and relays
  8. CE and UL electrical requirements
  9. Creation of documentation and training materials
  10. Determine and design Network architecture.
  11. Investigate and recommend sources of supply for special materials and parts, determine availability and prices as instructed by the Engineering Manager.
  12. Lead programmers and wiring personnel
  13. Visit customer facilities to assist in the solution of problems as they apply to Company products.
  14. Assist in the installation and commissioning of Company equipment as required at customer site.
  15. Undertake special engineering assignments or investigations as required.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
  17. Keep abreast of technical progress in the field of electrical/electronic equipment design and materials used in the manufacture for equipment.
  18. Advise and assist production personnel with electrical technical problems as they pertain to Company products.
  19. Maintain awareness of standardized products and components for utilization in new products, redesign, or custom engineering projects. Recommend changes to standardized products or components to improve performance, reduce manufacturing, and engineering costs.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, minimum.
  • Solid mechanical, electrical and software interface skills
  • Proficient in Solidworks and/or AutoCad electrical design software
  • PLC programming experience preferably Allen-Bradley software (required) and Siemens.
  • Experience and working knowledge of machine control & data acquisition systems including I/O hardware, field devices & sensors.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of testing and commissioning machinery.
  • Ability to work on a cross-functional team including sales, marketing, engineering, and field services.
  • Detail and process oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Understanding of HMI design principles.
  • Experience in Network design and support.

CNC Machinist / Programmer

CNC Machinist/Programmer Job Summary

We are currently seeking a highly experienced, reliable, and motivated CNC machinist/programmer to join our manufacturing team. You will be responsible for part programming, tool selection, as well as job setup and operation in a small lot machining/R&D environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in understanding technical drawings and sketches as well as have a strong foundation in CNC turning; Mazak and Okuma conversational programming experience is a plus.

CNC Machinist/Programmer responsibilities:

  • Work from complex prints to program and machine parts of various materials (primarily stainless steel and common plastics) on our Haas vertical mills and Mazak CNC turning centers.
  • Set and adjust work/tool offsets as necessary.
  • Independently select and set up tooling and fixtures/jaws.
  • Monitor the run of parts in cycle and after completion to ensure that specifications and tolerances are met.
  • Be proficient in using and understanding all common machine shop measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, height gauge, indicators, ID/OD micrometers, etc.
  • Train and mentor peers, when necessary
  • Other duties as required by Production Manager
