Inventory Control and Materials Movement


Maintain a continuous flow of materials through manufacturing, including but not limited to raw/saw cut stock, completed parts, purchased parts. Develop knowledge of basic shipping, receiving and stores procedures and techniques through the performance of a variety of departmental activities. Perform inventory control activities utilizing CRTs and computer reports; receive/issue materials and parts; pull machine/parts orders; maintain prescribed min/max levels through the issue of work orders or purchase order requisitions; unpack/stock parts; make local deliveries with company vehicle; assist with other duties, as required.

Cut room (Early morning)- Fulfill material requirements per work order

    1. Saw cut stock material
    2. Supply raw castings and/or purchased parts to be altered
    3. Continuously observe material stock levels; place incoming stock material into designated rack/area
    4. Distribute fulfilled work orders to respective work centers in manufacturing.

Machine shop- Transport completed parts to next work center (Twice a day; after cut room duties are complete and again shortly after lunch break)

  1. Collect completed parts with corresponding work order; move to next operation as designated on the routing
  2. Move parts requiring further processing to designated area in P&IC department

Incoming supplies- Machine shop (As required)

    1. Put incoming “stock” tooling and supplies into their respective cabinet/drawer (drills, reamers, gloves, etc.)
    2. Deliver specialty tooling/supplies to machine shop personnel, as specified (carbide or special tooling ordered for certain jobs)
    3. Continuously observe quantities of “stock” tooling and supplies

Shipping/Receiving- Machines/Parts (As required)

    1. Following company procedure, assist with crating outgoing machines and packing completed parts for shipping when necessary.
    2. Receive all types of incoming shipments, verify accuracy of shipments and receipts against paperwork, perform receipts and disbursements of stores parts and materials, puts parts and materials away, make assembly pulls, process all transactions utilizing CRT’s and/or computer printouts.

Fill out required time and production reports.

Assist higher-level departmental personnel and perform other work as required.

Requirements include:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years’ receiving experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and data entry.
  • Valid, clean driving record.

ISO Certified manufacturer.
