Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in driving the performance of our manufacturing operation.

This is a hands-on, high-impact position for a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, working with machinists and design engineers, and seeing their ideas translate directly into improved production results.

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for optimizing machining and manufacturing processes, improving throughput and machine utilization, controlling costs, supporting quality, and ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently and to specification.

This position also serves as the primary operational and technical support to the Production Manager and will have the opportunity to lead cross-functional initiatives involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Purchasing, Quality, and Cost Accounting.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed leader and problem solver who is comfortable working on the shop floor, making decisions, leading teams, and taking ownership of projects from concept through implementation.

Responsibilities Include:

· Participate in cross-functional design reviews to ensure products are designed for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing and assembly.

· Develop and optimize CNC programs, where necessary.

· Improve machining methods, machine utilization, production throughput, and material utilization.

· Identify and implement cost-reduction and productivity-improvement opportunities.

· Establish standardized and optimized manufacturing processes.

· Incorporate outside processes into manufacturing routings.

· Work closely with Production Planner to support planning/scheduling, material flow, and make/buy decisions.

· Ensure the availability of tooling, fixtures, gauges, and other equipment required for efficient production.

· Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate outside technical support when needed.

· Train/mentor both existing and new machine shop personnel.

Job Qualifications:

· 5–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience or equivalent experience and training.

· Degree or relevant education/training in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.

· Strong machining and manufacturing-process knowledge.

· Experience with both manual and CNC machining. GibbsCAM and ProtoTRAK experience is a plus.

· Experience developing routings, labor standards, setup documentation, and process instructions.

· Experience with continuous improvement and problem solving.

· Knowledge of OSHA and manufacturing safety practices.

· Ability to work effectively with engineers, machinists, production personnel, purchasing, and management.

· Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable walking onto the shop floor, speaking with a machinist about a manufacturing issue, working with an engineer to modify a design, analyzing the change and then implementing a practical solution.

In addition to a clean, safe working environment, we offer competitive rates and an excellent fringe benefits package that offers health insurance; 401K Retirement Savings Plan; paid vacations, sick and personal time, and holidays.
