CNC Machinist / Programmer
CNC Machinist/Programmer Job Summary
We are currently seeking a highly experienced, reliable, and motivated CNC machinist/programmer to join our manufacturing team. You will be responsible for part programming, tool selection, as well as job setup and operation in a small lot machining/R&D environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in understanding technical drawings and sketches as well as have a strong foundation in CNC turning; Mazak and Okuma conversational programming experience is a plus.
CNC Machinist/Programmer responsibilities:
- Work from complex prints to program and machine parts of various materials (primarily stainless steel and common plastics) on our Haas vertical mills and Mazak CNC turning centers.
- Set and adjust work/tool offsets as necessary.
- Independently select and set up tooling and fixtures/jaws.
- Monitor the run of parts in cycle and after completion to ensure that specifications and tolerances are met.
- Be proficient in using and understanding all common machine shop measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, height gauge, indicators, ID/OD micrometers, etc.
- Train and mentor peers, when necessary
- Other duties as required by Production Manager
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, technical school certification a plus
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience; primary proficiency in CNC turning.
- Strong knowledge of lathe and mill tooling/inserts
- Be able to properly follow verbal instructions as well as interpret technical drawings/sketches.
- Work well with others and collaborate on cross-departmental projects.
